Sited along an electrical and stormwater channel easement in the San Fernando Valley, this integrated development of housing and landscape is a prototype for development along these 'undesirable' sites. The weaving pattern emerges from the series of utility flows that occur longitudinally along the site, creating areas of turbulence and fluidity, resulting in cultural interchange and homogenization, respectively. The south end of the site is more dense; the framework of the development allows the density to spread north over time, allowing for more student housing for Cal State Northridge. The woven voids house numerous outdoor activities, including water polo, beach volleyball, soccer, a dog park, and an ampitheater.
