2010 - Marina Del Rey, Venice, and Downtown Los Angeles, CA
with Touraine Richmond Architects

In an economic downturn, infrastructural and large-scale projects have the ability to be further studied in the attempt to spur discussion amongst the design community, and in rare cases, focus public interest. These projects were part of a publication created by Touraine Richmond Architects to propose solutions to these types of projects around the Los Angeles area. The first project proposes the restoration of the Ballona Creek wetlands in Marina Del Rey in exchange for further development of the Playa Vista tract. The second project is an expansion of Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles to enable a straight alignment for the proposed California High Speed Rail project as well as allow an easy transfer to local Red and Gold Metro Rail lines and regional Metrolink trains. The third project places affordable, sustainable housing at the Venice Post Office Annex, which is currently for sale and slated for future development.
